With proper care and handling, our VacBeds can provide you with years of enjoyment. It seems that every latex designer has a different set of rules for the care of rubber items. The experienced latex afficionado will have his/her own ways of doing things. If you're new to latex, here are our suggestions.
- Oils, grease and solvents are extremely harmful to latex. Keep your VacBed away from oils, hand creams, and even leather (leather contains oil)
- Non-black latex (colors and transparents) will develop permanent brownish stains if they touch metals such as copper, brass, and bronze. Some silver colored jewelry contains these metals, so play it safe and remove all jewelry before playing. You should even wash your hands if you've been handling pennies!
- Keep flames and fire including cigarettes away from your VacBed as the material is flammable.
- Latex tears, so be extra careful with long nails, jewelry, and sharp objects.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and other strong UV rays.
- Using powder or silicone lube inside the bed will keep it from sticking to you.
- Water-based and silicone lubricants are your friends. They make for slippery-good fun and do not harm latex. NEVER use oil-based lubes with your VacBed. We like ID Millenium
and Eros Body Glide.
- Clean your latex within a couple days (sweat and body oils may weaken it and transparent latex discolors easily).
- Clean your latex in mild, soapy water. Do not wash in hot water. Do not use a washer and/or dryer.
- Blot with a lint-free towl and hang to dry. (NO METAL OR SHARP HOOKS!!)
- Lightly powder clean, dry latex with baby powder or cornstarch to prevent the latex from sticking to itself.
- We store ours in large 2 gallon zip top bags.
- Store in a dark, dry place.
